The project
A leading national housebuilder ordered timber stair balustrading from British Stiarways for approximately 17 individual stairwells, within a new-build development of three-storey, timber frame residential apartments.
The balustrading
British Stairways used components in American Oak to manufacture the balustrade which needed to satisfy common staircase regulations. The company uses Oak balustrading for the majority of its common area staircases, as Simon Kemp explains: "As well as being compliant with the Building Regulations for common area staircases, the Oak system is a good quality product that you can rely on to deliver a superb quality finish.
